WeatherBug Launches Paid App

WeatherBug this week launched what it’s calling an Elite version of its popular weather application for the iPhone and iPod touch. Unlike the standard WeatherBug app, the new WeatherBug Elite app ($0.99, available here) is free of advertising and includes full radar animation and six additional contour layers with infrared satellite, humidity, air pressure, and wind speed data.

WeatherBug Elite also sports:

  •  Enhanced seven-day forecast and hourly forecasts;
  •  Enhanced current conditions section - now with 12 distinct observations;
  •  Touch anywhere map technology enables users to "drop a pin" and view current weather conditions for location;
  •  Full presentation of entire National Weather Service alerts;
  •  Time-lapse animation for weather cameras; and
  •  Unlimited location settings.

    iPhone and iPod touch owners have downloaded the standard WeatherBug app over two million times.
